Vertical wrinkles and deep creases that develop between the eyebrows are among the most common signs of facial aging. These frown lines, which are also referred to as glabellar lines, are the product of overactive facial muscles and the skin aging process. Many patients complain that these wrinkles make them look older, less friendly, and/or more tired than they feel. Thankfully, the FDA-approved injectable Jeuveau can provide an effective solution for moderate to severe wrinkles between the eyebrows.

We invite you to explore the informative sections provided below or contact Pinsky Plastic Surgery to learn more about this exciting new advancement:

What is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau by Evolus® uses a highly purified version of a cosmetic neurotoxin, called botulinum toxin type A, to temporarily relax the facial muscles responsible for causing the appearance of frown lines. Jeuveau works similarly to other neuromodulator products like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and XEOMIN®; however, Evolus claims Jeuveau offers unique properties that make it more effective for treating moderate to severe glabellar lines. For patients who desire more dramatic reduction of frown lines than they have been able to achieve with other injectable wrinkle-relaxing products, our physicians may recommend trying Jeuveau. Results achieved with Jeuveau generally last between three to four months, and regularly scheduled re-treatments can maintain smooth skin between the eyebrows. Jeuveau is frequently included in surgical and non-surgical facial rejuvenation plans—along with other wrinkle relaxing products, dermal fillers, and skin treatments—to achieve optimal aesthetic improvements.

Who Is a Candidate for Jeuveau?

To find out if Jeuveau is the right injectable product for smoothing your frown lines, a consultation with one of our physicians is necessary. During this appointment, your doctor will ask about your cosmetic concerns, examine your skin, discuss any injectables you have tried before, and pinpoint the results you hope to achieve from treatment. Based on their findings, your doctor can develop a plan aimed at satisfying your wrinkle-reduction goals with Jeuveau and/or other cosmetic injectables. By combining other treatment options into a comprehensive facial rejuvenation plan, your physician can help you achieve youthful, natural-looking results that may surpass your initial expectations.

What Happens During Treatment with Jeuveau?

To prepare your skin for the injections, a cold compress can be applied to desensitize the area and an alcohol swab is used to create a sterile surface. Next, Jeuveau is injected into the skin with a fine needle. Your injector carefully administers a precise amount of Jeuveau needed to bring about the desired effect and balanced results. A cold compress may be applied after the injections are complete, if desired. The effects of Jeuveau are not apparent immediately; however, the results will develop within about five days after treatment.

How Long Do Jeuveau Results Last?

Approximately two to four weeks after your injections, the maximum effect of your Jeuveau injections should be visible. At this time, your muscles should be relaxed, allowing the skin between your eyebrows to smooth considerably. The results created with Jeuveau generally last between three to four months, though each patient’s experience is unique. If you are interested in maintaining the smooth look achieved with Jeuveau, another treatment can be performed after three months or more. For some individuals, Jeuveau results can last longer after a few repeated treatments due to weakening of the targeted muscles over time.

How Much Does Jeuveau Cost?

The price of your Jeuveau treatment will depend on how many areas of the face are injected during your session. At this time, Jeuveau pricing is consistent with other neuromodulators, such as BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport, although there is currently an introductory discount of $75. During your consultation, your physician will tell you which areas of the face will give you the most optimized results and can inform you of the cost for treatment up front. At Pinsky Plastic Surgery we accept several forms of payment, including cash, check, and credit cards. If you are looking for ways to make paying for your treatment more affordable and convenient, we also offer financing through reputable third-party lenders including PatientFi® and CareCredit®.
