This treatment is the only hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat moderate to severe signs of wrinkles along the cheeks and mid-face. Working to smooth the skin of the mid-facial region, add volume, and essentially “lift” the cheeks, the results of JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC can last up to two years. How Does It Work?

The JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC treatment process is typically very quick, and can often be performed over a lunch hour. A very fine needle will be used to inject the solution, which contains a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort. Any swelling or redness around the injection sites should fade within a few days, and can often be alleviated with ice packs.

What About After My Injection?

Although there is typically no downtime necessary after this procedure, you should avoid any activities that will cause excessive strain for about 24 hours after the procedure. We also advise patients to avoid makeup, long periods in the sun, or alcohol consumption for at least one day after treatment.
