Sculptra® is a dermal filler composed of poly-L-lactic acid to restore lost volume in hollowed areas of the face while simultaneously smoothing wrinkles and fine lines. Our plastic surgeon, Dr. Mark Pinsky recommends Sculptra® for patients who seek to rejuvenate the skin through non-surgical means and rebuild their natural collagen. Sculptra® is designed to continue to improve the skin over time as new collagen growth reverses facial fat loss, providing patients with younger, fuller, healthier looking skin. This treatment is FDA-approved to restore lost volume in the cheeks and other areas that are experiencing a “sunken” appearance.

Why You Should Choose Dr. Pinsky for Sculptra® Treatment
Sculptra® injections are offered by a variety of practices. However, for the best results, patients should seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon or certified physician assistant to benefit from the highest level of skill and training. At Pinsky Plastic Surgery, our backgrounds, medical knowledge, and experience with non-surgical cosmetic enhancement treatments help us to evaluate your needs. Through the use of one-on-one consultations and the latest techniques, we can achieve natural-looking, high-quality results.
How Does It Work?
Sculptra® is injected into the treatment areas with a fine needle. These areas can be numbed before the injections to minimize discomfort. Biocompatible poly-L-lactic acid stimulates new collagen growth to restore fullness by reversing the hollowness associated with age-related loss of facial fat. Each treatment takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, though the duration may vary depending upon the number of areas being treated. Results from Sculptra® can last up to two years, and patients typically see continued improvement as more and more collagen is replaced. Some patients require three to six Sculptra® treatments to maximize the cosmetic advantages.
What About After My Injection?
Minimal swelling, redness, or tenderness may occur at the treatment site when using any dermal filler. However, side effects are typically very mild and resolve quickly. Our patients usually resume their regular activities as soon as they leave our office, and many choose to have Sculptra® treatments performed during their lunch hour.
